November Meeting

The November meeting of the North Olympic Brewers Guild (NOBG) will be Sunday the 13th, at 2pm. Kelly Raymond will be hosting at her place up Mt Angeles Rd. For directions, click here.

Mic and Kelly will have some of their Jubelale clone, and maybe the Stout will be ready by then. If you have a beer ready, please bring some for the group to try.

Also, Tom Curry, Head Brewer at Port Angeles' newest brewery, Barhop brewing has asked the NOBG to have some sort of competition, and he would brew the winner's recipe to have on tap at the new tasting room downtown. This meeting would be a great time to discuss how we would accomplish such, or even if we want to. Tom would label the beer with both the brewers name, and the NOBG.

PAAR Octoberfest Coming Soon

Attention All Brewers ! The Port Angeles Association of Realtors Octoberfest is coming up Friday, the 14th of October. This event is a major fundraiser for three different charities in the Port Angeles/Sequim area.

All of the proceeds go to the following charities:

Self Help Housing of Clallam County www.hacc_housing.org

Salvation Army Food Kitchen

Scholarships for Graduating Seniors from Port Angeles and Sequim High Schools

This event will take place, as last year, at the Clallam County Fairgrounds. The event starts at 5:30 and will go until all items are auctioned off.

Last year four NOBG brewers donated 9 different beers to the fund raising effort. This year we are hoping for even more participation from our members. We welcome all brewers to bring some hombrew and share it with the crowd. As we did last year there will be a peoples choice vote for the best beer with certificates awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

All brewers and a guest will be provided with dinner and dessert.

All the NOBG members in attendance had a great time as well as going home with some great auction items and all the money raised is for worthy causes.

We will be setting up the night before the event anytime after about 4:00 or so and there will also be an opportunity to set up early the night of the event.

I am personally asking that any members who are able to, please help us to raise funds for some great causes and help get the NOBG name out in the community. This event is also a great venue for showcasing your brewing skills. Please join us for a great evening of fun and food and great homebrew as well as some great auction items.
