A Message From the New President
Howdy Fellow Homebrewers -
Many important and exciting things are happening in the home brewing community as of late. For our club business, we have defined some leadership positions, and held an election to fill those spots. I am your humble President. Keith Barnett is our Vice President, and Brian Kuh, Secretary. This spring, we will be presenting a demonstration brew at the Port Angeles Farmers Market. Bill down at Olympic Brewing Supplies www.olybrew.com in Bremerton has agreed to supply the grains for a display of all the different varieties. We need some volunteers to help. We'll discuss more on the 20th.
Another big event - - The Washington Homebrewers Association, www.wahomebrewers.org Board met on Tuesday, the 9th, and unanimously approved our membership as a full voting local association.
And speaking of WAHA, as a fundraiser, they are currently selling some logo'd merchanidise, we can order as an association and save some shipping. take a look:

If you want to participate, please email me at micsager@gmail.com by the 16th.
There are some (relatively) local competitions coming. Again, see the WAHA website. It would be great if we could show the state that great beer is being brewed in the homes of Clallam County. I plan on entering my first competition this year, and I encourage all to do the same. It's a great way to learn from a skilled, objective judge as they evaluate the fruits of your labor.
It's gonna be a great year for brewing on the North Olympic Peninsula. Wholesale hop prices have dropped significantly. It's taking the retail outlets a little while to react, but they'll get there.
Hope to see one and all on the 20th. If you happen to have an IPA ready, please make sure and bring it. We plan a little judging of our own.

NOBG now a voting member of WHA!!
Thanks to the efforts of our president(Thanks Mic!) NOBG is now a voting member of the Washington Homebrewers Association (WHA). This means now more than ever we need your strong support of our club. As a voting member of WHA we have a say in many issues concerning competitions as well as legal issues that WHA addresses on behalf of homebrewers throughout Washington state. Please come support the NOBG and the WHA. Become active in the local homebrewing club . . . . NOBG !!
